During the Prophet (peace be upon him), in Madinah, two people usually dug the graves in two ways. A Muhajir Companion is Abu Ubaidah bin Zarrah. He used to dig 'shock' like Makkah. The other is Ansari Companion Abu Talha (RA). He used to dig 'Lahad' like the people of Madinah.
Lahad or armpit is buried, after digging the ground with four corners, the bodies are placed in the west side of the west (cable).
And if the soil is soft, then 'shock' can be made. Shock or ark is buried naturally after digging the ground with four corners, go down to the bottom of a hole in the middle.

At the same time, the people were sent to call both. Meanwhile, the Companions continued to pray. Abu Talha (RA) arrived in a short time.
